Morys Davies

 

Morys Davies is a Welsh multi-media artist who explores the evolving relationship we share with technology in the 21st century and his identity as a digital native.

In his work, he transforms technology into his canvas to create a hybrid between sculpture and painting that features raw and exposed insides to pull back the screen and encourage the viewer to consider the value we place on these devices.

In his newest body of work "Screen Time" he asks the viewer if the internet, and subsequently smartphones have reached a point of diminishing returns and now serve as a tool for our control. Within this, he explores the topics of iPad kids, his fear for future generations, and the problematic design of social media.
